A healthy urban environment
HURBE is a National Joint Project that aims to develop curricula and programs in higher education institutions in the field of healthy urban environment at architecture and construction faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) during 3 years (2018-2021). . The project includes 6 universities - Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar; University of Sarajevo, University of Zenica; University of Rome Sapienza, Italy (coordinator); University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture, Croatia; University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Bulgaria - and 5 associated partners from Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia and BiH, and is aimed at modernizing the curriculum by developing new and innovative subjects and installing new equipment. The motivation for the project is the key importance of the topic at the international, European and national level.
The target groups are employees in the field of higher education who work on the preparation of future architects and engineers. The project will be appointed by the Consortium, which sets up a complete curriculum - real academic subjects and MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) modules - for students, teachers and lecturers, and installs laboratories that ensure real sustainability after the end of the project. This improves teaching skills and integrates the theme of a healthy urban environment, through a project that puts the transfer of ECTS credits - program amendments - into practice and turns the European Higher Education Area into a reality on the ground.
